Five Ways to Train Your Eyes

Most of us practice sports – more or less often, but we generally tend to pay attention to the necessity of engaging in physical activity and stretching our muscles. However, very few people remember that our eyes, just as our thighs or abs, also need training. In particular eyes that read a lot or spend long time in front of a computer. How to do it? You are about to learn 5 quick ways to regenerate tired eyesight!

 

1. Always look in the distance

If you extensively in front of a computer, you probably focus too much on the screen and forget to blink. This results in eye weariness, itching and pain. There is a way to alleviate those symptoms – look up and try to focus on a distant object. Then try to look through the window, preferably on some plants (green colour tends to relax our eyes), and then look back on your screen. Blink a few times. Repeat whole sequence 3-4 times.

2. Visualise... a pencil!

Imagine that there is a long pencil at the top of your nose. Move your head around and try to draw different contours with it – start with big shapes, then gradually make your way down. After that, close your eyes and try to visualise what you have just drawn. This exercise trains muscles of the eyeball and contributes to a more detailed vision

3. See all the colours of the world!

Light stimulates visual cortex in the brain and reinforces the retina. Make use of that! With closed eyes, try to “look” on the sun or a lamp. The light coming through closed eyelids will make you see a great variety of colours! After that, look away and only then slowly open your eyes.

4. You can make faces!

This exercise will relax the muscles of your face and eyes. Close your eyes and try to make different, funny faces – pull your eyebrows, smile broadly, wrinkle your nose. Then relax, open your eyes and blink a few times.

5. Cover yourself... with your hands!

This exercise will instantly relax your tired eyes. Sit or lie down comfortably, rub your hands to warm them up a bit and cover your eyes and your face with them. Rest a while in this position. You will feel instant relief and regenerate your eyes.
