Spring vitamins for the eyes!

During fall/winter season fresh fruits and vegetables are not that common. Our organisms are begging for the vitamins and so do our eyes. During the whole year our eyes are prone to multiple factors, such as radicals, unbalanced diet, excessive computer or TV use, insufficient lighting during reading and sun beams. Throughout the year, the eyes lose crucial ingredients that protect them from diseases and allow maintaining visual acuity.

Ingredients essential for proper functioning of the eyes, such as lutein or zeaxanthin are not synthesised by our organism. Therefore, they should be supplemented by a proper diet. If our food doesn’t contain enough vitamins, lutein and zeaxanthin we may suffer from Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), which can lead to a total blindness. Healthy diet, containing various green vegetables (spinach, broccoli, peas, brussels sprout), fruits and fatty, sea fish helps maintaining functioning and good condition of the eyes.
