If you are the right candidate for laser vision correction:
- I am short-sighted and my refractive error is -14D or less OR I am far-sighted and my refractive error is +6D or less*
- I am at least 20 years of age.
- My vision has been stable in the past year.
- I am not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- As far as I know, my eyes are otherwise fine.
- I am not taking corticosteroids, hormonal drugs or any other drugs that might affect wound healing.
- I am fed up with my contact lenses or glasses.
If your answer to all of the above questions is YES, you may be a good candidate for laser vision correction. If any of your answers is NO or if you don’t know the answer to any of the questions, make an appointment to see our doctor, who will perform specialist tests to tell you if laser vision correction is right for you.
In order to decide whether laser vision correction is right for you the following factors must be determined by the doctor:
- Corneal thickness
- Current and past eye diseases
- Objective refractive error
- Refractive surgery in the past
Do not wear your contact lenses on the day of eye examination, and do not drive right after the examination.
